What personal information we collect 

Where permitted by law, we may collect certain personal identification data such as but not limited to your name, date of birth, address, gender, nationality, contact details (email address, phone numbers, etc.) as well as compliance-related documents and certain financial information, including asset-related information or your investment experience. Where you are a legal entity, we may also collect information about your directors, representatives, employees, shareholders or beneficial owners. Certain information is only recorded if you decide to disclose it to us voluntarily, for example in the course of the onboarding and profiling process. In addition, when you access and browse our website, your activities may be tracked and certain data may be transmitted by your browser or device and recorded on our servers. We may use tracking technologies to collect, store, and process such information. 

Why we collect personal information 

SISAA collects, stores, and processes personal information in accordance with the provisions of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) either with your implied or explicit consent within the applicable legal framework either because we are required by law to meet our legal and regulatory obligations or to improve our services and your user experience. Examples include but are not limited to the following: 

  • To register you and create a profile; 
  • To onboard you as a client; 
  • To verify and protect your identity; 
  • To carry out legal and regulatory compliance checks; 
  • To prevent and detect criminal activity; 
  • To prevent fraud and avoid the misuse of our services; 
  • To protect our clients, partners, and employees; 
  • To manage our relationship with you; 
  • To communicate with you; 
  • To handle service-related questions; 
  • To evaluate your needs and interests; 
  • To customize our offerings to you; 
  • To improve our offerings; 
  • To execute transactions; 
  • To interact with and exercise our rights vis-à-vis 3rd party service providers; 
  • To conduct research & development. 

How we protect personal information 

All SISAA employees accessing personal information comply with our internal rules and procedures. SISAA has put in place adequate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised, accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, misuse, or disclosure 

Please note that our website may contain links to third-party websites that are not operated or monitored by SISAA AG. Such websites are neither bound by this Notice nor are we responsible for their content or their privacy policies. In addition, if you visit our website via an open network, this may allow 3rd parties (e.g. app stores, network providers, etc.) to see, access, and process personal information about you. Open networks are beyond our control and SISAA AG cannot be held responsible or liable for open network transmissions. Transmission of personal information via open networks may be monitored, intercepted, amended, corrupted, lost, destroyed, or infected with viruses. Please note that open network transmissions may occur in full or parts in jurisdictions other than Switzerland.  

With whom we share personal information 

To conduct our business efficient and effectively, we may share certain personal information with 3rd party service providers, including but not limited to the following:  

  • Custodian banks and their correspondent bank networks; 
  • Payment processing and interchange providers; 
  • Card issuers and card payment processing providers; 
  • Asset and fund managers; 
  • Clearing houses and settlement companies; 
  • Credit agencies and bureaus;  
  • Government agencies and regulators;  
  • Technology providers; 
  • Logistic companies; 
  • Marketing and communication agencies. 

We take all necessary steps possible to ensure personal information is protected. Where legally possible, 3rd party service providers are contractually bound to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements. In cases where 3rd party service providers are located outside Switzerland or in the context of international transactions, personal information may be transmitted, stored, and processed in other countries.  

How long we store personal information 

Personal information is stored for the duration of our relationship with you and in accordance with applicable regulations, which might require us to store certain personal information after the termination of our relationship with you. In general, personal information is retained for a period of ten years after the termination of our relationship with you. 

What are your rights?  

At any time, you have the right to access and obtain information about the personal information that we collect, store, and process or request corrections in case your personal information is incorrect, outdated, or incomplete. In addition, you can request your personal information to be transferred to you, object or request restriction to the processing of personal information or request deletion of personal information. To the extent permitted by law, SISAA will entertain your rights, but it is possible that in certain instances we cannot adhere to your requests.
